Ebook Writing - Revealed - 3 Ways to Energize Your Ebook Writing

Is your ebook writing becoming stale? Do you find yourself losing interest and avoiding getting started on your project? Hey, it happens to all of us from time to time. Don't fret about it. Here are three ways to energize your ebook writing.

1. Take a break

Over time all writers encounter periods of time when their writing becomes labored and stale. It may seem that you can't think clearly and it's nearly impossible to organize your thoughts and commit them to paper. Some call it writer's block. Regardless of what it's called, you can overcome it by first taking a break.

Get out of your writing routine for a while. How long? There is not a 'one size fits all' answer.

Do something fun. Find something you really like doing. For example, go to a movie, play golf, or watch a sporting event. The important thing is to let your mind focus upon something but writing. Do something relaxing. Take a long nap or soak in a hot tub.

Spend time with family and friends. Hey, because you are a dedicated writer, you probably don't see enough of the people you love and who love you. Now is a good time to spend some time with them.

2. Find a topic that lights your fire

After your break, it's time to get back into the saddle, so to speak. Now, what do you write about? Besides, you will more than likely immerse yourself into a topic you like and about which you feel passionate.

To find a topic, consider selecting your topic from the things you like to do. Ask yourself, "If I wasn't writing, what would I do?" Maybe you have been harboring a secret desire to be a chef, scuba dive, or backpack the Appalachian Trail. What would I do if I weren't getting paid? That will probably be a good source for finding a topic that truly interests you.

Another method for finding a topic is to recall past employment jobs in which you've developed skills and hobbies that you love do. Identify the things you most enjoy doing. For example, categories may include: sports, cooking, computers, or gardening.

Now, under each topic category create a list of sub-categories. For example, if you listed computers, your sub categories may include personal computers, mainframe computers, or a history of computers.

You can bet there is an article waiting to emerge.

3. Then do it

The worst enemy of any endeavor is procrastination. This is where your personal pride as a writer and your writer's discipline must overcome your desire to avoid getting started.

But, the key here is to get started. First, sit down at the computer. Next, open your word processor. Then, type the topic on the screen. What is the first thing you want to say about the topic? Type that in. Hey, you have a topic based upon something you love. Continue describing the information you want to convey and let the words flow
